2018 Estate Pinot Noir

Deep, intense dark fruits dominate the nose of this Prophet Vineyard wine. Hints of earth and mushroom are present, reflecting the Eola-Amity location. On the palate, dark cherry and plum with a hint of black licorice reveal the wine to be of substance and more masculine than previous vintages. There are notes of iron, Eola-Amity soil, and black heirloom tomato acidity that pair wonderfully and create a delicious, complex pinot. It is ready now but should drink marvelously for the next decade.

The Eola-Amity Hills vineyard is LIVE Certified and sustainably farmed. The opulent fruit that comes from Prophet Vineyard reflects the combination of volcanic and marine sedimentary soils that lie on the south facing slopes. The site runs from 440’ to 615’ in elevation. The vineyard is directly exposed to the cooling winds of the Van Duzer Corridor. The five major soils are Chehulpum, Steiwer, Rittner, Nekia and Jory. The Estate wine includes 777, 943, 828, Mt. Eden, Swan, Calera, Pommard, Coury and Wadenswil clones.
